How to fill it in

  1. Fill in the top once a week: your details, where the dog is kept and what it looks like.
  2. Add a line for each episode as it happens: the date, when it started and stopped, and what you heard.
  3. Say where you were and how it affected you. “Woke me at 06:10” is more useful than “unbearable”.
  4. Use the notes for triggers, witnesses and whether you recorded it.

More detail, including what to do before you send it anywhere, is in how to keep a dog barking diary. To write to the owner, a landlord or an HOA, use the barking dog letter generator.
