DogQuiet was called Hushbark until October 2026. Only the name changed: the app and how it treats your data are the same.
DogQuiet is built so that there is almost nothing to write here. The short version: your audio never leaves your phone, there is no account, and there is no DogQuiet server.
DogQuiet listens through your phone’s microphone while a listening session is running, and only while the app is in the foreground. Audio is analysed on the device by a sound classifier that is bundled inside the app.
Stopping the listening session stops microphone access immediately. DogQuiet does not request permission to use the microphone in the background.
All of this lives in the app’s sandbox. Deleting the app removes it.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple. DogQuiet uses RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active.
RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier that it generates, plus the receipt Apple issues for your purchase. It does not receive your name, your email address, your dog’s name, your journal or any audio. RevenueCat’s privacy policy applies to that data.
Apple’s own handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
DogQuiet contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking of any kind. DogQuiet does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not ask for tracking permission.
DogQuiet is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new version is published here.
